The international gaming sector has experienced explosive growth in the last few decades. VMW Taxand is the first legal firm in the Netherlands to have a specialised multidisciplinary team dedicated to advice and litigation for the international gaming sector. Our clients are frequently operators listed on the stock exchange, affiliates, media companies, financial institutions, software developers and government institutions. Our office is involved in an important part of Dutch and European procedures regarding the legal sustainability of the Betting and Gaming Act.

In addition to the day-to-day legal practice, members of the Gaming, Sports & Entertainment practice group regularly publish in key trade journals such as Casino Lawyer, Gaming Law Review & Economics, European Gaming Lawyer. Lectures are regularly given at the industry's international events such as Global Interactive Gaming Summit & Expo, European Gambling Briefing, International Casino Exhibition.

Justin Franssen, lawyer and shareholder with VMW Taxand, is the Dutch member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, an invitation-only professional organisation for prominent industry specialists. Justin Franssen was honoured with a band 1-ranking in the Chambers Global Edition in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. In 2009 he won the 'Lawyer of the Year'-award in the specialised trade journal 'World Online Gambling Law Report'.
